A proposed Speed Limit Order (Amendment 17) is now open for public consultation. This proposal aims to reduce the existing speed limit to 40mph on the following roads in Borden:

MAIDSTONE ROAD – From its junction with Oad Street to a point 320 metres northeast of its junction with Oak Close. OAD STREET – From a point in line with the western side entrance of Vinson Farm to the boundary with Maidstone Borough Council. This change is being proposed for:

• Avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
• Preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
• Facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The Public Deposit Period is open from:

22nd August 2025 – 15th September 2025.
