CLERK TO BORDEN PARISH COUNCIL

STARTING SALARY SCP 28 £16.75 PER HOUR.

10 HOURS PER WEEK, THE POST IS HOME BASED WITH TRAVEL TO MEETINGS IN BORDEN.

TRAVELLING COSTS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT.

The candidate will preferably be an experienced clerk, a good communicator with a professional attitude who is confident to work on their own initiative, with good interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle the necessary organisational, computing, administrative and financial tasks. Hours of work are flexible as long as meeting deadlines are met and evening meetings attended. Computer equipment will be provided.

Duties for this appointment include, but are not limited to: attending monthly evening Parish Council and the annual parish meeting; preparing agendas; taking minutes; keeping the Parish council website updated; posting relevant items to the parish Facebook page; maintaining the statutory documents; keeping financial records; preparing accounts, the annual budget and the Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR);providing procedural advice to Councillors; liaising with Contractors dealing with enquiries and correspondence; and other administrative tasks as necessary.
